The Opportunity We are looking for a passionate and community-focused Club Development Officer to join our Planning and Community Development Team in Kununurra. This exciting role is responsible for strengthening the capacity, governance and long-term sustainability of sporting clubs and community organisations across the Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley. Working closely with clubs, volunteers, government agencies and community groups, you will help build stronger, more connected communities by supporting the delivery of quality sport, recreation and community initiatives. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and implementing governance frameworks, resources and support tools for sporting clubs and community organisations; Providing advice to clubs on incorporation, constitutions, governance, risk management, insurance and strategic planning; Delivering governance, leadership and capacity-building workshops for volunteers and committee members; Building strong relationships with community organisations, sporting associations, government agencies and funding bodies; Identifying grant opportunities and assisting clubs to prepare competitive funding applications and acquittals; Facilitating collaboration between clubs and organisations to encourage resource sharing, volunteer development and stronger community networks; Assisting with the planning and development of community, sport and recreation facilities, including master planning, needs analysis and feasibility studies; Preparing reports, maintaining accurate databases and monitoring key performance indicators relating to community development outcomes; Supporting the delivery of community development initiatives aligned with the Shire's Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan; Working collaboratively across the organisation to deliver positive outcomes for the community. Relevant qualifications in Community Development, Sport and Recreation, Governance or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience), together with a current unrestricted WA Driver's Licence, Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance are essential for this role. You will also need demonstrated experience working with community organisations or sporting clubs, a strong understanding of governance and incorporated associations, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, sound project management abilities, high-level report writing skills and the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse range of community groups. Experience working in regional or remote communities and an understanding of the local government environment will be highly regarded.
