We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Production Assistant to support the daily operations of our farm. This role involves working closely with the Production and Estate Managers to execute production plans, supervise farm workers, and ensure optimal productivity and quality standards are consistently achieved. Key Performance Outputs Field Supervision Supervise and coordinate daily farm activities (pickers and general workers) Assign tasks and ensure output aligns with productivity targets and standards Provide training on harvesting, pruning, planting, and maintenance Monitor quality and productivity, providing hands-on support when needed Hands-On Farm Work Participate in: Blueberry harvesting and quality selection Pruning, planting, and trellising Irrigation setup and monitoring Fertilizer and crop protection application (as trained) Conduct regular field inspections to identify plant health or irrigation issues Operational Support Assist with daily and weekly planning of farm operations Monitor yields, harvest volumes, and labour performance Maintain accurate production records and timesheets Support coordination between field and packing operations Resource Management Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment Monitor inventory levels (fertilizers, trays, irrigation materials) Report breakdowns and assist in resource efficiency Health, Safety & Compliance Uphold food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards Ensure proper PPE usage and safe work practices Report risks and maintain basic compliance records Requirements Minimum Requirements Certificate VI, Diploma, or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field Basic knowledge of farm management systems and Microsoft Office Minimum 2 years’ experience in farm production (preferably soft fruit or low chill varieties) Exposure to full crop production cycle (land preparation to harvesting and maintenance) Key Competencies Technical Skills Knowledge of crop production, irrigation, and pest control Ability to monitor farm conditions and troubleshoot issues Strong organisational and problem-solving skills Behavioural Skills Effective team supervision and communication Strong interpersonal and people-management skills Adaptability to weather and seasonal demands Detail-oriented and results-driven Ability to perform under pressure Why Join Us?
