The Role We are seeking a reliable Irrigation Hand to join a busy almond farm operation in Darlington Point, NSW. Working within the agriculture and horticulture industry, this hands-on role will support irrigation system repairs, maintenance, checks, and day-to-day water management across a large outdoor farm environment. You will work as part of a practical and safety-focused irrigation team, assisting with sprinkler systems, headland checks, routine maintenance, and fertiliser mixing. This role suits someone who is physically fit, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in changing conditions. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will help maintain efficient irrigation systems to support healthy crop growth and smooth farm operations. You will be expected to follow safe work practices, communicate clearly with the team, and complete tasks with care and attention to detail. Install, repair, and maintain irrigation systems, including piping, valves, timers, and sprinkler heads Diagnose and assist with repairs to broken or malfunctioning irrigation equipment Conduct routine inspections, headland checks, and preventative maintenance Drive a mule or similar farm vehicle to complete irrigation checks across the property Adjust irrigation systems to support effective water coverage and efficiency Program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers and related systems where required Assist with the safe mixing and handling of fertilisers Read and follow farm maps to complete assigned work areas Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used Follow all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment requirements Work cooperatively within a team and support daily farm operations as needed Benefits Competitive pay rate of $ 55 per hour plus applicable penalty rates and overtime Long-term seasonal role with potential ongoing opportunities Stable weekly hours of 38 hours per week , with some variation depending on weather and farm needs Hands-on outdoor role in a large-scale almond farming environment Supportive team culture with clear safety systems and procedures Your Skills & Experience Current ChemCert or valid chemical certificate is required Current driver's licence is required Previous irrigation, farm hand, labouring, or horticulture experience is highly regarded Telehandler experience is highly preferable Ability to read and follow farm maps Physically fit, reliable, and able to work varied hours when required Willingness to work within a team environment Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills Understanding of irrigation systems, including sprinkler or drip systems, is advantageous Basic understanding of plumbing or electrical systems is desirable Strong commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment systems Must be able to wear required PPE, including hi-vis clothing, steel-capped boots, gloves, safety glasses, and other task-specific equipment Choose Agri Labour Australia Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian company with clients in every State and Territory.
