HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated APS5 Project Officer to support the delivery of key projects and programs within a large Federal Government agency located in either NEWCASTLE or CAMPBELLTOWN NSW. Working under limited direction, you will contribute to project planning, coordination, reporting and continuous improvement activities that support organisational performance and operational outcomes. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include: Supporting project planning, coordination and delivery activities. Monitoring project progress and tracking deliverables against established plans. Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and documentation. Preparing project reports, status updates, briefs, presentations and other written materials. Conducting research and analysis to support project outcomes and decision-making. Identifying project risks, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement. Supporting quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation activities. Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders. Assisting with project governance and reporting requirements. About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Experience supporting project planning, coordination and delivery. Ability to develop and maintain project documentation and artefacts with a high level of accuracy. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving capabilities. Proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build productive working relationships. Experience contributing to project reporting, monitoring progress, and identifying and managing risks and issues. Strong written communication skills, including the preparation of reports, briefs and presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, organisational requirements and legislative environments. Desirable Experience Understanding of project management methodologies and governance frameworks. Knowledge of risk, issue and benefits management processes. Experience using project or task management tools to schedule, track and report on project activities.
