One day you could be assisting a person to build their independent living skills and the next day you could be out and about providing connection to their local community or going to the football game. What you'll do: Provide person-centred support to people Assist participants in achieving their personal goals through meaningful engagement Promote community inclusion and social engagement Assist people with community outings which may include recreational activities, appointments, and independent living skills Support people with their daily living skills and activities within the home What you'll bring to the role: Minimum 2 years of experience in the disability sector, ideally in a similar community-based role Passion for working with people in their homes and the community Experience supporting individuals with their emotional regulation and using implemented strategies for positive behaviour support Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with participants and families Ability to work across weekdays and weekends as per the required roster Ability to use your own vehicle travelling within the Perth metro area Commitment to the NDIS Standards and the Safeguarding of children and adults at risk. What you'll need: Minimum of two years’ experience supporting people with disabilities Australian Citizenship or Full and unrestricted working rights for Australia Driver’s licence and vehicle for work use with comprehensive insurance Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent NDIS Worker Screening Check Certificate of the NDIS ‘Quality, Safety & You’ of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module Working with Children and DCP check Identitywa highly recommend COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for all workers. Availability We require our workers to be able to do a mix of shifts between 6:00am and 6.00pm Wednesday – Sunday. Must be available for 40 hours per fortnight with options available from South Fremantle to Wilson and surrounding areas.
