The Opportunity This is a senior commercial finance leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with a functional line to the head of the retail business. You will lead a team across billing, credit and affordability, planning and analysis, and financial control, with real influence across the broader organisation. The role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, customer outcomes and operational performance. You will shape pricing input, contribute to regulatory submissions and drive long-term commercial planning, while remaining hands-on with the team and close to day-to-day retail operations. With regular engagement at Executive and Board level, this is a high-profile position for a leader who wants both strategic reach and operational impact. The Role Your key responsibilities will include: Leading and developing four direct reports across billing, credit and affordability, planning and analysis, and financial control Driving commercial and financial leadership across strategy, operations, performance and investment Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting and trend analysis, with regular engagement at Executive and Board level Providing input into pricing strategy and support regulatory submissions in collaboration with specialist teams Evaluating business cases and investments with robust financial analysis and clear recommendations Manage billing, cash collection, credit and debtor systems with a focus on accuracy and control Providing commercial insight on customer affordability, vulnerable customers and sustainable pricing decisions Acting as Contract Manager for a key external customer services agreement Driving continuous improvement in commercial systems, data quality and reporting integrity Working collaboratively across retail, corporate, pricing, regulatory and customer functions The Ideal Person You are a commercially sharp, hands-on leader who moves comfortably between strategy and execution. You bring genuine depth in financial management, know how to get the best from a team, and thrive in complex, fast-moving environments.
