The Opportunity Sicame Australia is investing deliberately in the HV and EHV transmission market, and this role has been created to lead that push nationally. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded engineer, senior technical sales professional, or transmission specialist to build a market segment rather than simply inherit a territory. Sicame brings established global product capability, recognised quality, and a strong reputation across electrical connection and protection systems. In Australia, the business now has a clear appetite to grow its direct presence in transmission and major infrastructure. What Sicame needs is the right person to take that platform to market. You will work across transmission network owners, major contractors, consultants, project stakeholders and channel partners. Your role will be to identify opportunities early, influence specification, navigate tender pathways, and convert technical credibility into commercial growth. This is not a warm desk role. It is not a maintenance account management position. It is a national market-building role for someone who wants to own something meaningful. If you understand HV infrastructure, can hold your own with engineers and project stakeholders, and have the commercial instincts to build relationships, shape opportunities and win long-cycle work, this is a genuine opportunity to establish yourself as the face of Sicame's transmission growth strategy in Australia. What You Will Own You will be responsible for building Sicame's transmission opportunity pipeline across Australia. That will include: Identifying and developing opportunities across transmission network owners, TNSPs, major contractors, consultants and channel partners. Building a healthy, well-qualified pipeline aligned to agreed national growth targets. Developing structured account plans for key utilities, contractors and strategic accounts. Engaging with engineers, project managers, procurement teams and field stakeholders with credibility and confidence. Translating technical requirements into commercially sound proposals and customer value. Navigating panel arrangements, utility procurement pathways and tender processes from early engagement through to award. Supporting specification pull-through and helping position Sicame products earlier in the project lifecycle. Providing market intelligence on competitor activity, upcoming projects, standards changes and customer priorities. Working with the broader Sicame business to help shape product-market fit, messaging, channel strategy and commercial approach. You will have autonomy, but you will not be walking in empty-handed. Sicame has product credibility, technical capability and a business that is serious about investing in this space. What You Will Bring This role will suit someone who combines technical credibility with commercial drive. You may come from technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, business development, project delivery, field engineering or a commercially focused engineering background. We are particularly interested in people who bring: Direct experience in HV or EHV transmission, substations, overhead lines, utility infrastructure or major electrical projects. Existing relationships across Australian utilities, TNSPs, EPCs, contractors, consultants or channel partners. The ability to build a market from the ground up without needing a road already paved for you. Confidence engaging with technical stakeholders while still driving a commercial outcome. Experience managing complex, long-cycle opportunities through tenders, procurement processes and commercial award. Strong CRM discipline, forecasting capability and structured opportunity qualification. Clear communication skills and the ability to simplify technical detail into customer value. The willingness to travel nationally and operate with a high degree of autonomy. Formal engineering qualifications will be well regarded, but practical field, project, utility or technical sales credibility in HV infrastructure is equally relevant. The key is credibility. You need to be able to walk into a conversation with engineers, contractors, procurement teams and senior stakeholders and earn trust quickly. This Will Suit You If You are not looking for a caretaker role. You may already be successful in technical sales or business development, but you are ready for something with more ownership, more national visibility and more strategic upside. You enjoy opening doors, building relationships, understanding projects early, and positioning products before the tender is already decided. You are comfortable with long-cycle work. You understand that major infrastructure opportunities are rarely quick wins, and you have the patience, discipline and commercial judgement to build momentum over time. You may have grown tired of simply managing someone else's accounts or working within a narrow territory. This role gives you the chance to help shape a national growth strategy in a sector where the opportunity is real. Why This Role While not specified here, the role offers a substantial six figure base salary, car allowance and bonus structure that will meet the market. As a new role we are open to meeting the expectations of senior sellers who bring the skills, contacts and experience we are seeking to help us build our presence in this market. Sicame has an exceptional brand, strong product capability, established technical credibility and a clear appetite to grow its transmission presence in Australia. The market opportunity exists. The relationships are there to be built. The business has the platform to compete. What has been missing is the right person in the right seat to drive it forward commercially. For a commercially oriented engineer or senior technical sales professional who wants to own a national market segment, this is the kind of role that does not come around often.
