An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join a purpose-led organisation making a genuine difference in people’s lives. This is more than a transactional finance role; it is a chance to contribute to work that supports individuals, families and communities in meaningful and lasting ways. Based in Upper Mount Gravatt, this permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to align your professional skills with a broader sense of purpose. Working as part of a small, collaborative finance team, you will partner closely with the Accountant and Chief Financial Officer to ensure the financial health and integrity of the organisation. Every invoice processed, reconciliation completed and report supported plays a quiet but essential role in enabling frontline services to continue delivering care, support and impact where it is needed most. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of key transactional finance activities. This will include managing accounts payable and receivable processes, reconciling bank accounts, processing credit cards and employee expenses and maintaining the general ledger through the preparation and posting of journals. You will also contribute to audit readiness, ensuring financial records are accurate, compliant and well organised and assist with month-end processes and reporting requirements. However, what truly sets this opportunity apart is the environment in which the work takes place. You will be joining a values-driven team where collaboration, integrity and accountability underpin daily operations. Your work will not only support financial outcomes but will also help ensure that resources are directed efficiently and responsibly towards programs and services that positively impact the community. The role requires someone who brings both technical competence and a strong sense of purpose. You will have a high level of attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, reliable work. Your analytical thinking will enable you to identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively, while your understanding of transactional finance will help you see the broader picture behind the numbers. Equally important are your interpersonal and communication skills. You will interact regularly with internal teams and external stakeholders, requiring a professional, approachable and responsive manner. The ability to communicate financial information clearly and confidently will be essential in ensuring it is understood and trusted across the organisation. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities must be balanced and deadlines met, bringing a structured, organised and process-driven approach to your work. At the same time, you will be adaptable and collaborative, willing to step in and support colleagues across the finance function when needed. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to five years’ experience in an accounts or finance role, along with a relevant qualification in accounting, business or a related discipline. Experience with systems such as MYOB, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Employment Hero, and strong Excel skills will be advantageous. This role will suit a finance professional who is not only capable and reliable, but who is also motivated by purpose and values.
