About the Opportunity We are currently partnering with a large Queensland Government department to recruit 2 x Senior Management Accountants (AO6) for an initial 6 month contract opportunity. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting services that support strategic decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced management accountant to join a collaborative team and contribute to meaningful outcomes. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate and timely financial management reporting, analysis and commercial advice. Monitor financial performance against budgets, identifying risks and providing recommendations to improve outcomes. Prepare monthly management reports, reconciliations, forecasting, budget revisions and ad hoc financial analysis. Assist in the preparation of the annual State Budget, including budget submissions, Annual Reports and briefing materials. Support the development and continuous improvement of financial management policies, processes and reporting frameworks. Ensure budget allocations are accurately maintained and reconciled within the budget management system. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, Queensland Treasury and external service providers. Contribute to process improvement initiatives and provide financial support across a range of projects. About You To be successful in this role, you will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent professional membership such as IPA/MIPA). Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector finance experience will be highly regarded. Demonstrated experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting within a complex organisation. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide practical recommendations. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings and financial presentations. A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
