Senior ICT Project Manager Canberra, ACT | Long-Term Contract Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior ICT Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives within a high-profile Federal Government environment. Working alongside senior executives, business leaders, technical specialists, and external vendors, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver strategic ICT projects while ensuring strong governance, risk management, and benefits realisation. What You'll Be Doing Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex ICT projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards Provide strategic leadership across project teams, technical specialists, vendors, and business stakeholders to successfully deliver key work packages Drive project governance, managing schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits realisation using recognised project management methodologies Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and maintaining engagement throughout the project lifecycle Champion Agile delivery practices while ensuring projects align with established governance frameworks including MSP and PRINCE2 Develop, maintain, and continuously improve project documentation, reporting, governance artefacts, and delivery frameworks Mentor and coach project team members, promoting knowledge sharing and building organisational capability Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of project management frameworks, governance practices, and delivery methodologies across the organisation Why This Role Stands Out Lead enterprise-scale ICT projects delivering meaningful outcomes within a nationally significant organisation Work across a diverse portfolio of technology initiatives supporting digital transformation and operational capability uplift Influence strategic decision-making while engaging with senior executives and key business stakeholders Join a collaborative, high-performing environment that values innovation, leadership, and continuous improvement Opportunity to shape project delivery capability and contribute to long-term organisational maturity What We're Looking For Extensive experience delivering complex ICT projects within large enterprise or Federal Government environments Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary project teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders Proven ability to deliver projects using Agile methodologies alongside traditional project management frameworks Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, governance, risk, issues, and benefits realisation Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies including MSP, PRINCE2, and Agile Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at executive level A proactive and collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing high-performing teams Highly Desirable Experience delivering enterprise technology transformation or digital modernisation programs Experience contributing to organisational project management frameworks and governance improvements Professional certifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP Practitioner, Agile, PMP, or equivalent Experience working within complex law enforcement, national security, Defence, or other highly regulated environments Security Requirements Australian Citizenship is essential. Candidates who hold a NV1, or higher Australian Government Security Clearance will be highly regarded.
