This is a highly visible leadership role where you will partner with cross-functional teams to embed safety into daily operations, ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and empowering leaders and teams to take ownership of safe execution. Letâs  talk about the role  As our Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the  site OH&S operating system , ensuring it is robust, compliant, and continuously improving.  You will act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, driving a  âsafety-firstâ culture  and supporting teams across manufacturing, engineering, warehouse, and corporate functions to manage risks effectively.  This role is both  strategic and hands-on , requiring a strong presence on the shop floor, coaching leaders, and ensuring safety is embedded into every process.  Letâs talk about Responsibilities Safety governance & compliance  Lead and  maintain  the siteâs OH&S management system in line with Australian and NSW legislation and  Res m ed  global standards  Partner with leadership to ensure due diligence and regulatory compliance (including SafeWork NSW engagement)  Ensure audits, inspections, and reporting frameworks are effective and transparent  Risk management & incident prevention  Drive hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of effective controls across site operations  Lead incident investigations, ensuring strong root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions  Partner closely with Engineering, Production, and NPI teams to embed safety-by-design  Safety culture, training & leadership  Champion a proactive safety culture through coaching, training, and leadership engagement  Embed safety routines and standard work across daily operations (e.g., shift start, Gemba, audits)  Develop and  maintain  training frameworks and safety competencies across the site  Ergonomics, injury management & return to work  Lead ergonomic risk reduction initiatives and injury prevention strategies  Manage early intervention and return-to-work processes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders  Provide  data-driven insights on injury trends and improvement opportunities  Contractor, change & emergency management  Ensure contractor compliance with site safety requirements and standards  Embed safety into change management, capital projects, and new product introduction  Lead emergency preparedness, response planning, and site drills  Letâs talk about Qualifications and Experience Required: Degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Ergonomics, or related field  Approximately 5 years of s olid experience in an OH&S role within manufacturing, warehouse, or regulated environments (medical device, pharma, FMCG) Strong knowledge of Australian / NSW OH&S legislation and regulatory requirements  Proven experience in risk management, incident investigation, and safety systems  Strong influencing skills with the ability to coach leaders and engage frontline teams  Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities  Preferred: ISO 45001 audit experience or certification  Return to Work Coordinator training (or willingness to obtain)  Experience in regulated manufacturing or medical device environments Expertise  in ergonomics, manual task assessment, or injury prevention  â Letâs  talk about what success looks like  A visible and embedded safety-first culture across leadership and frontline teams  Strong compliance with OH&S standards and audit readiness  Reduction in incidents, hazards, and high-risk exposures  Effective leadership ownership of safe execution, with OH&S acting as an enabler and coach Joining us is more than saying âyesâ to making the world a healthier place.
