Job description Operations Readiness Infrastructure This FIFO opportunity offers the chance to support a major mining infrastructure project, ensuring assets, systems, people and processes are fully prepared for safe and effective Day 1 operations. Working across Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance and Operations, you will play a key role in validating infrastructure readiness, supporting handover, closing operational gaps and ensuring critical asset data and maintenance foundations are in place before start-up. Role Opportunity We are seeking an Operations Readiness Infrastructure specialist to support the transition of infrastructure assets from construction and commissioning into operational use. This is a 12-month contract role offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster, working 12-hour days, with an hourly rate of $120$130 per hour inclusive of superannuation. The role will focus on ensuring civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems are ready for safe operation, maintainability requirements are addressed, commissioning deliverables are complete, and SAP PM/EAM asset data is accurate and fit for purpose. You will work closely with project, commissioning, maintenance, engineering and vendor teams to identify risks, resolve defects, close out punch items and support a smooth handover into steady-state operations. Benefits • 12-month contract opportunity • FIFO 8:6 roster - fly from Perth, Brisbane or Darwin • 12-hour days • $120$130 per hour including superannuation • Major mining infrastructure project • Key operational readiness position • Exposure across commissioning, handover and Day 1 readiness • Work across civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems • Strong stakeholder engagement across project and operations teams • Opportunity to influence maintainability and operational outcomes Essential Qualifications & Skills • Strong operations readiness, commissioning or maintenance background • Experience within mining, heavy industry or major capital projects • Strong understanding of infrastructure systems and asset handover • Experience reviewing commissioning and completion documentation • SAP PM/EAM experience, including asset master data readiness • Strong understanding of maintenance strategies and asset data integrity • Ability to identify operational, safety and maintainability risks • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills • Proven ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary project teams • Australian working rights Desirable Experience • Previous major mining operator or owner-side project experience • Experience with civil, mechanical, electrical and control systems • Exposure to SAP master data, BOMs, task lists and maintenance plans • Experience supporting energisation, start-up or operational handover • HAZOP, safety review or operational risk assessment experience • Experience working with commissioning teams and punch list close-out • Vendor data, O&M manual and handover package review experience • WA mining project experience • FIFO site-based project experience Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure infrastructure assets are ready for operational use • Validate civil, mechanical, electrical and control system readiness • Confirm assets meet operational, safety and maintainability requirements • Review commissioning deliverables, test results and punch lists • Validate handover packs, O&M manuals, drawings and vendor data • Work with commissioning teams to close defects and punch items • Support readiness for energisation, start-up and operational handover • Ensure SAP PM/EAM master data is complete and accurate • Review equipment records, functional locations, BOMs and task lists • Support maintenance plans, spares and asset data readiness • Coordinate with planners, engineers, vendors and operations teams • Support HAZOPs, safety reviews and operational risk assessments • Identify risks impacting operability, maintainability and performance • Verify safety-critical elements are ready for operation • Provide operational input into design and commissioning decisions • Communicate readiness status, risks and issues through governance forums • Support Day 1 operational preparedness and transition activities Our Client Our client is a leading mining organisation delivering a major infrastructure-focused project within the resources sector.
