Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Senior Speech Pathologist to join our team in Newcastle and Maitland. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and support to clients. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ communication and swallowing abilities. Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide therapy to clients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic care. Educate clients and their families about communication and swallowing disorders and strategies for improvement. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation. Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification. Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a medical or rehabilitation environment. Strong understanding of communication and swallowing disorders. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
