StaffCorp on behalf of Orison Inn (Colonial Motor Inn) Orison Inn (Colonial Motor Inn) is seeking an experienced, motivated and career focused full-time cook to join our restaurant in West Wyalong, NSW. This position provides a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to further their skills. You should be able to work in a high-pressure environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will ensure tasks assigned are carried out in a timely fashion, to a high standard and within food hygiene guidelines. To be successful in this role you will have experience in: 1. Seasoning, preparing and cooking all dishes. 2. Portioning and presenting food items as per restaurants standard procedures. 3. Receiving, storing and rotating all stock as per restaurants procedures and HACCP standards and taking a systematic prevention approach to food safety by identifying potential hazards. 4. Maintaining Workplace Health and Safety at all times. 5. Analyzing and reporting on any quality or food safety issues while accepting deliveries. 6. Storing chilled food in fridges while storing frozen items inappropriate freezers. 7. Preparing a workflow and ensuring that the work is carried out hygienically and methodically. 8. Preparing food for special dietary requirements whilst keeping abreast with allergen information of all products. 9. Communicating effectively and supporting other members of the kitchen team and other staff. 10. Weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes. 11. Checking that different recipes are cooked as per standard procedures and guidelines. 12. To keep wastage to the minimum and help keeping the food costs down. 13. Checking the food quality prior to and after cooking. 14. Regulation of temperature of Pans, Burners, Ovens, Grills, and other cooking equipment for optimum output 15. Safe handling and storage of all the food items and storing at their recommended temperature/s. 16. Completing periodic stocktake of perpetual and non-perpetual stock as per guidelines. 17. Checking Daily Stock sheet, ordering, receiving and storing goods at the right place within appropriate temperatures in case of perishable, non-perishable and frozen products. 19. Cutting and chopping of meat and vegetables using chef’s knives, chopping knives, carving knives and meat knives etc. You will also have: · Relevant education in Commercial Cookery & at least 5 years of relevant work experience · Demonstrated problem-solving skills. · High degree of professionalism and integrity. We are offering a great work environment, salary of $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus mandatory Superannuation for the right candidate and an opportunity to grow with the business.
