We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing menu items, overseeing kitchen operations, managing food and labour costs, and ensuring consistent quality and compliance with food safety standards. Main Tasks / Duties and Responsibilities: • Prepare and cook a variety of café and dining dishes in accordance with Piccolo Me's franchise menu and brand standards • Implement menu items and specials set by head office, adapting preparation to local customer preferences and feedback where permitted • Manage kitchen stock, including ordering supplies in line with franchise requirements, estimating food and labour costs, and minimising wastage • Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene, food preservation, and overall operational efficiency • Liaise with venue management on menu rollouts from head office, dietary requirements, and customer feedback • Monitor food quality throughout all stages of preparation and ensure presentation meets franchise brand standards at service • Demonstrate correct cooking methods and techniques, guiding kitchen staff to maintain consistency with franchise specifications • Handle customer complaints professionally and report operational issues to venue management when necessary • Apply correct food storage, freezing, and preservation practices to maintain freshness and quality • Ensure compliance with franchise procedures and uphold food hygiene and safety standards in line with food safety requirements Skills and Experience Required: • Certificate IV in Kitchen Management / Diploma of Hospitality Management or similar qualification evidence • At least 1 year full-time experience as a Chef post qualification (or minimum 3 years if no formal qualification) • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café and dining environment • Excellent organisational and time management skills • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as needed Why Join Us: • Work in a multicultural and collaborative environment • Contribute to a modern and growing business that values quality and consistency • Obtain a secure position in a stable and professionally managed hospitality environment
