Defence Sustainment Engineer Location: Melbourne, Australia Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Tuesday to Thursday in office) About the Role World Fuel Government Solutions is seeking a Defence Sustainment Engineer to support the ongoing performance, maintenance and lifecycle management of complex Defence systems. Working within our Defence Engineering team, you will contribute to sustainment and engineering activities that help ensure Defence equipment remains safe, maintainable and mission ready throughout its lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is interested in Defence, sustainment, maintenance engineering, supportability and lifecycle engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to Defence acquisition, sustainment and supportability practices while building your technical capabilities. What You'll Be Doing Support sustainment and lifecycle engineering activities across Defence programs. Assist with maintenance planning and supportability activities. Contribute to engineering investigations and technical problem-solving activities. Maintain engineering records, technical documentation and supportability data. Assist with reliability, maintainability and engineering assessments. Support the development of maintenance concepts and sustainment solutions. Contribute to technical documentation, maintenance instructions and engineering reports. Participate in engineering reviews and project activities. Work with Systems Engineers, suppliers, Defence stakeholders and project teams to support program outcomes. Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and sustainment activities. Develop knowledge of Integrated Product Support (IPS) and Defence supportability practices. What We're Looking For Required Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Early career engineering experience in Defence, aerospace, rail, manufacturing, maintenance, utilities or other complex engineering environments. Understanding of engineering fundamentals and product lifecycle concepts. Experience working with mechanical systems, equipment or engineered products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Exposure to Defence programs or highly regulated industries. Exposure to maintenance, reliability, sustainment or supportability activities. Exposure to engineering documentation, technical publications or maintenance manuals. Exposure to Integrated Product Support (IPS) or Integrated Logistics Support (ILS).
