Data Architect Melbourne | 6-Month Contract (possible of extension) | 4 days on-site We're partnered with a leading enterprise organization undergoing a major business and technology transformation. They are seeking an experienced Data Architect to support the deployment of a new core operational system and its impact on the enterprise data platform. This role will be instrumental in designing data solutions, managing data model changes, and ensuring business-critical reporting and analytics continue seamlessly throughout a dual-run transition period. What you'll be doing: Solution Design & Architect ure Review and validate Salesforce integration design , specifically: Visibility and integration of a custom-built construction Job Notes application Define data flow architecture into Snowflake , including End-to-end ingestion patterns, transformation logic and orchestration, and alignment with existing platform architecture Data Modelling & Master Data Alignment Define how data hierarchy changes will be: Modelled in the target state, Managed during the interim (dual run) state Lead updates to data mastering strategy , including Identification of system(s) of record (masters vs. downstream/slave systems) for key data objects, Alignment of mastering approach with Snowflake data structure and ingestion Dual Run & Transition Planning Assess and design for dual-run impacts , including Data duplication, reconciliation, and lineage considerations, and Maintaining business-as-usual reporting continuity Analyze and document operational impacts on: Snowflake pipelines and ingestion jobs, Batch vs streaming processes, Scheduling, performance, and cost considerations Data Analysis & Impact Assessment Perform detailed data analysis across multiple systems Identify: Data dependencies, Transformation impacts, and Risks to reporting and downstream consumers Provide clear recommendations and mitigation strategies What we're looking for: Strong Data Analysis skills (able to navigate complex multi-system environments) Proven Solution Architecture experience in data platforms Advanced Data Modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical) 3–5 years in Data Architecture roles (or broader experience with strong architectural accountability) Hands-on experience with: Snowflake (essential), Data ingestion pipelines and transformation design Experience with: Fivetran (preferred), Azure / Azure Integration Services (AIS) (preferred), Experience in enterprise-scale, multi-system environments, Exposure to transformation / migration / dual-run scenarios highly desirable Comfortable working in ambiguity and evolving requirements Pragmatic and delivery-focused (able to balance ideal architecture with real-world constraints) Experience in construction, ERP transformation, or complex operational environments is advantageous If this sounds like the right fit, apply now or reach out for a confidential discussion.
