Fleet Allocator – AM Shift | Cold Chain Transport | Sydney West 4:00am start · 10-hour shift · Permanent full-time This is a live transport operation in one of the most significant logistics investments in NSW in recent years - a brand-new, $70M cold chain facility in Sydney's west, part of a national refrigerated transport business operating 400 vehicles across the country. The business is growing fast - 80 to 100 new hires a year nationally, and this is a key operational role at the Sydney site. The Role From the moment your shift starts at 4:00am, you're in it. This isn't a desk-based planning job - it's real-time decision-making in a live refrigerated transport environment. You'll be dispatching and allocating fleet resources, managing drivers through the shift, and handling breakdowns, route changes, and customer priorities as they come - all while keeping cold-chain integrity and service levels intact. The hiring manager wants someone who earns driver trust, communicates clearly under pressure, and thrives when the plan changes. What You'll Be Doing Dispatch and allocate trucks and subcontractors across daily delivery and pickup schedules Coordinate route changes, delays, and exceptions in real time via TMS and GPS fleet tracking Manage driver attendance, performance, and momentum throughout the shift Liaise with warehouse, operations, and customer service teams to keep freight moving Monitor refrigerated transport requirements and maintain cold-chain compliance Ensure adherence to Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management obligations Track DIFOT, vehicle utilisation, and cost per delivery; prepare handover notes for the afternoon team Your Background Experience in fleet allocation, dispatch, transport scheduling, or transport operations Exposure to refrigerated or temperature-controlled logistics - cold-chain knowledge is non-negotiable Comfortable managing drivers and influencing outcomes through communication and rapport Familiar with TMS platforms, GPS fleet tracking, or SAP Happy to start at 4:00am and operate at pace in a high-volume, ever-changing environment Backgrounds in refrigerated transport, FMCG logistics, foodservice distribution, or freight dispatch are all relevant What You're Like You're high-energy, decisive, and a natural communicator.
