MERCHANDISE ALLOCATOR - Melbourne CBD & Cheltenham Looking to break into Merchandise Planning & Allocations? This is one of those rare opportunities where attitude, analytical thinking and strong Excel skills matter more than direct merchandise experience. We’re partnering with a highly respected Australian retail business with over 135 years of heritage across luxury menswear, premium accessories and international brands. With continued growth, a strong online presence and expansion into younger customer markets, the business is looking for a Merchandise Allocator to support the Merchandise Planner directly in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who genuinely wants to build a long-term pathway into Merchandise Planning, Allocations or Retail Analysis. You do NOT need previous merchandising or allocations experience. However, you DO need: Strong Excel capability Confidence using Pivot Tables & V-Lookups Analytical thinking and attention to detail Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn Backgrounds that could translate well include: Retail Allocations Just finished Uni Administration Customer Service Stock Coordination Supply Chain Support IT / Data-heavy roles Analytical or reporting environments What You'll Be Doing Working closely with the Merchandise Planner, you’ll gain exposure to: Stock allocations & replenishment Raising purchase orders Trade reporting & sales analysis Supporting stock flow across stores Re-order management Trading insights & performance reporting Learning core planning fundamentals from the ground up You’ll also be working across highly user-friendly systems that operate similarly to Excel.
