NHP is seeking a practical, safety-focused Plant Maintenance Lead to join our Laverton manufacturing site. This is an on-the-floor role where you will diagnose faults, coordinate maintenance activity, and keep production on track when machines go down. You will play a key role in equipment reliability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement, working closely with production, engineering, quality, procurement, and specialist contractors. Key Responsibilities include: Lead hands-on plant maintenance to support safe, reliable, and efficient production Respond to equipment breakdowns, perform fault-finding, and coordinate timely repairs to minimise downtime Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans for plant and machinery Analyse breakdown trends, identify root causes, and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability Plan and schedule maintenance activities, including inspections and calibrations, in collaboration with internal teams and external providers Maintain workshop tooling, spare parts, and critical inventory, ensuring contractor and supplier compliance Support safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance, including testing requirements Prepare maintenance reports and communicate priorities effectively with key stakeholders Utilise ERP and maintenance management systems to manage work orders, asset data, and maintenance performance Contribute to digitisation initiatives, improving data visibility, automation, and continuous improvement across operations and maintenance processes Ideally you will have / be: A relevant Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial maintenance trade qualification, or equivalent technical training Experience in plant maintenance, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, logistics or another high-volume environment Strong fault-finding capability across mechanical and/or electrical systems Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance and reliability improvement practices Experience using root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate maintenance work, materials and contractors A safety-focused approach, with clear communication and strong stakeholder engagement skills To be considered, you will bring hands-on technical maintenance capability, strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to work directly with production teams when equipment issues arise.
