Location: Rydalmere, NSW Employment Type: Full-Time Classification: Automotive Trades / Heavy Transport Engineering Reporting to: Workshop Supervisor Position A premier provider of specialized transport equipment and lifting systems is seeking a trade-qualified Automotive Electrician to join the operations team at our Rydalmere facility. This position is responsible for delivering high-level automotive electrical expertise within a structured workshop environment. The successful candidate will focus on the planning, preparation, modification, and installation of complex electrical systems on both new and used heavy equipment, ensuring all builds align precisely with client specifications and corporate quality standards. Key Accountabilities Electrical Installation & Modification: Layout, construct, and modify wiring circuits for complex heavy vehicle and equipment installations according to strict manufacturing guidelines. Ancillary Systems Integration: Wire and integrate low-voltage auxiliary components, including Power Take-Off (PTO) systems, pump interfaces, hydraulic tarps, safety cameras, and specialized LED lighting arrays. Diagnostics & Rectification: Utilize advanced fault-finding techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair intricate electrical issues on specialized transport machinery. Collaborative Workshop Support: Work closely with mechanical technicians and fabrication teams to ensure seamless equipment installation and timely project execution. Reporting & Compliance: Maintain accurate internal and external documentation. Utilize digital operational platforms (including ERP systems, Smartsheet, and Tiikr) to track project progress and report on technical challenges. Workplace Health & Safety (WHS): Demonstrate strict adherence to safety protocols, proactively identify workplace hazards, maintain an organized workspace, and ensure quality control is at the forefront of every task. Key Selection Criteria Qualifications: Australian Trade Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology or a strictly relevant discipline. Licensing: A valid, current Australian Driver’s Licence is mandatory. Medium Rigid (MR), Heavy Rigid (HR), or Forklift (LF) licences are highly advantageous. Technical Experience: Demonstrated experience in the heavy transport, truck manufacturing, trailer build, or heavy machinery industries. Specialist Knowledge: Prior exposure to PTO and pump interface wiring, transport lifting systems, or cranes will be highly regarded. Systems Literacy: Proficient in a standard Windows computing environment, with the capacity to utilize Microsoft Office, ERP databases, and digital compliance applications.
