With a reputation built on quality, safety, and innovation, they’ve experienced steady growth and are now seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their growing team. About the Role This is a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant role embedded in an operational business - not a sit-back-and-report finance function. You’ll report to the Finance Manager and support an offshore Accounts Clerk. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day accounting across AR/AP, reporting, payroll, tax, and job costing, ensuring financial data is accurate, timely, and actually reflects what’s happening on the ground. This role is critical to cash flow, reporting integrity, and supporting better decision-making across the business. You’ll also drive system discipline and improvements, with a focus on getting the most out of the ERP system (Business Central) and lifting overall finance capability. If you like clean numbers, tightening processes, and being close to the detail - this is that role. The responsibilities of the role include: Lead month-end - journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations Deliver accurate balance sheet reconciliations within tight timeframes Produce cost centre P&Ls with clear, practical commentary Owning AR/AP end-to-end - invoicing, debtor management, payment runs Manage payroll processing and compliance (super, PAYG, payroll tax) Prepare BAS, FBT and support external tax requirements Work closely with workshop/operations on accurate job costing Drive improvements in systems, reporting and process discipline Build and maintain reporting that supports real business decisions Support and manage an offshore Accounts Assistant About You Minimum 4 years’ experience in a financial accounting role CA or CPA (completed or working towards) Strong experience across month-end, reconciliations and financial reporting Experience working with ERP systems (Business Central or similar) Experience with job costing (manufacturing or similar environments desirable) Exposure to payroll and tax (desirable) Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity Comfortable being hands-on and close to the detail Strong communicator who can work across both finance and non-finance teams Process-driven with a mindset for continuous improvement Can prioritise, manage deadlines, and follow things through What's On Offer Full-time, in-office role (Brisbane southside - no WFH) with free onsite parking Competitive salary of $110,000-130,000 super (based on experience) Opportunity to take ownership of a broad, end-to-end finance role Exposure to operational and commercial aspects of a growing business Supportive, close-knit team environment with real impact on how the business runs If you’re looking for a role where you can take ownership, bring discipline to finance, and work closely with operations, we’d love to hear from you.
