About the Opportunity We are partnering with a leading organisation delivering critical capabilities within Australia's Defence and National Security sector. Due to continued growth, an opportunity exists for an experienced Security Officer to join a high-performing security team supporting secure operations across a complex and highly regulated environment. This role is ideally suited to a security professional with strong experience across personnel, physical and protective security functions within Defence or government environments. Working alongside senior security leadership, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting secure facilities, and ensuring the effective administration of security processes across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Administer personnel security processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, clearance management, suitability monitoring and offboarding activities. Coordinate and manage security clearance sponsorship, maintenance, renewals and compliance requirements. Support the operation of secure facilities, including access control systems, visitor management and secure area procedures. Maintain accurate security records, registers and documentation in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements. Assist with security incident reporting, investigation support and corrective action tracking. Deliver security briefings, inductions and awareness activities to employees and stakeholders. Support audits, inspections and assurance activities by preparing documentation and evidence for compliance reviews. Monitor adherence to security policies, procedures and protective security requirements. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure security obligations are met. Contribute to the continuous improvement of security processes and compliance frameworks. Skills & Experience Previous experience in Defence, Government or other highly regulated security environments. Strong understanding of personnel security, protective security and physical security practices. Experience managing security clearances and personnel vetting processes. Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM). Experience supporting secure facilities and access control environments. Strong administrative capability with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
