Girton Grammar School is seeking a skilled and proactive professional to join our team as the Major Projects Lead within our Grounds, Maintenance and Infrastructure team. This is a hands-on and dynamic role responsible for coordinating and supporting the delivery of maintenance and minor capital works projects across the School. Working closely with the Head of Maintenance and Infrastructure, you will play a key role in ensuring school facilities are safe, functional and maintained to a high standard. About the role The Major Projects Lead is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of infrastructure and maintenance projects, while also undertaking hands-on trade work as required. Key responsibilities include: Coordinating maintenance and minor capital works projects, including scheduling, logistics and resource planning Liaising with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support project delivery Undertaking building maintenance, repairs and minor construction works Conducting site inspections and identifying maintenance priorities and safety risks Supporting documentation, record keeping and project tracking processes Assisting with general grounds, maintenance and event set-up across the School as required About you You are a practical, solutions-focused professional with strong organisational and trade skills, and the ability to balance coordination responsibilities with hands-on work. You will bring: Demonstrated experience in maintenance, facilities or a building environment Trade qualifications in carpentry or a related field (preferred) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Experience coordinating contractors and working collaboratively with stakeholders A sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices A commitment to maintaining a safe, well-presented and functional environment Why join us?
