Role: Contracts & Procurement Manager Location: Melbourne CBD (project interface with Swan Hill, VIC) Engagement: Contract (with potential for ongoing involvement) Sector: Mining / Mineral Sands Project Day Rate: $1000 - $1200 per day About the Role Consultive is partnering with the owner’s project team on a significant Victorian mineral sands development , supporting the appointment of an experienced Contracts & Procurement Manager . The role is based from the Melbourne CBD office, working closely with site and project stakeholders supporting delivery at Swan Hill. Sitting on the owner side, this position holds responsibility for establishing and managing the full contracts and procurement framework across the project. The Contracts & Procurement Manager will play a key role in ensuring all commercial activities are executed in alignment with corporate governance, internal policies and the Project Execution Plan. This is a senior, hands on commercial role suited to professionals experienced in mining or heavy industrial projects, capable of balancing strategic contracting decisions with detailed tender, negotiation and award processes across complex, multi package scopes. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and subject matter expertise across all Contracts and Procurement activities for the project. Develop and implement the project contracting strategy and contracting plan in line with corporate policies and execution requirements. Provide key input into the selection and application of appropriate contract forms across Design, Supply, Construction and Design & Construct packages Establish, own and maintain the Contracts Status Report, ensuring clear visibility of commitments, exposures and commercial performance Develop and manage vendor, supplier and bidder lists in coordination with project and technical stakeholders Prepare, issue and manage Expressions of Interest (EOI), Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and Requests for Tenders (RFT) Manage end to end tender processes, including governance, clarifications, evaluations and compliance Undertake detailed commercial bid evaluations and prepare Recommendations for Award (RFA) for executive approval Lead commercial negotiations and contract finalisation, clearly identifying risks and mitigations for senior leadership consideration Support and advise the project team on commercial interfaces between contractors, suppliers and the owner Attend and contribute to project, commercial and executive meetings as the lead Contracts & Procurement representative About You Proven experience as a Contracts & Procurement Manager or senior commercial professional within mining, resources, energy or large infrastructure projects Strong owner side commercial mindset with experience across EPC, EPCM, supply and construction contracting models Solid understanding of procurement strategy, commercial risk, contract structures and negotiations Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contract packages across different phases of project development Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience interfacing between office based teams, site personnel and executives Highly organised, detail focused and comfortable operating within structured governance frameworks Ability to provide clear, practical commercial advice to support informed executive decision making Why Consider This Role?
