About the role The Cloud, Platforms, Infrastructure & Networks (CPIN) teams' responsibility is to deliver secure, available IT services 24 x 7 365 to the AEMO business and market participants. The CPIN team provides vision, leadership and management of IT service delivery, service transition and service operations to ensure that the services delivered meet service requirements for value, availability and reliability. They aim to lead change by becoming a trusted and credible business partner that gets the basics right, delivers on commitments and continuously improves what we do, and how we do it. You will make a vital contribution to the success of one of AEMOs largest IT initiatives and ensuring a smooth, successful deployment of IT systems. Please note that to be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance. What you will be doing Review high level integration solution designs and provide technical leadership to project teams, ensuring approved integration patterns and architectures are consistently applied throughout detailed design and implementation. Support project teams in scaling and onboarding new integration environments, providing hands‑on assistance with setup, troubleshooting, and resolution of configuration issues to meet project timelines. Responsible for administering middleware products across all environments in highly available implementations where applicable. This includes conducting regular audits of configuration files, managing backup and recovery processes, tuning and maintaining the alerting framework, and executing application migrations across sites without data loss, ensuring consistency, reliability, and the achievement of all KPIs. Design and maintain dashboards and reports to track key operational metrics and business SLAs using enterprise application monitoring and observability tools. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance standards across integration platforms by implementing best practices for authentication, authorisation, data protection, and auditability. What you will bring to the role Degree or higher tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, complemented by hands-on experience in operational support. Demonstrate extensive experience in the configuration and operation of commercial Enterprise Integration Platforms, Managed File Transfers, messaging middleware and webMethods product suites. Practical experience integrating solutions with relational database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, supporting data access, persistence and optimisation. Demonstrated hands-on experience with API Gateway technologies with strong expertise in Kong API Gateway, including monitoring API performance, troubleshooting gateway issues, and supporting CI/CD automation of gateway configurations, with a strong understanding of API management principles, gateway patterns, policies, security standards, and RESTful services. Kong Gateway Certified Associate certificate is highly desirable. Lead incident management activities for integration platforms, including timely identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues, coordinating with cross-functional teams to minimise service disruption and performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
