About the role An excellent opportunity has opened for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Rockhampton office, a key hub within an integrated Queensland network that connects teams across Mackay, Townsville, Brisbane, and beyond. What you will be doing Delivering geotechnical investigations and design across a range of project types, with accountability for technical quality and commercial compliance Working under the guidance and mentorship of a senior technical leader, with structured support for your professional development and career progression Reviewing and contributing to geotechnical reports and ground models, with increasing responsibility for sign-off as your experience grows Managing project lifecycles including scoping, quoting, and delivery, ensuring both technical and financial objectives are met Contributing to business development activity including preparing proposals and bids for significant regional and state-level projects Playing an active role in identifying and pursuing opportunities tied to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games infrastructure pipeline Building and maintaining client relationships across contractors, government authorities, and specialist consultants Collaborating with sister offices across Queensland to share technical expertise, resources, and project capacity Supporting and mentoring junior engineers within the Rockhampton team Ensuring compliance with QHSE systems and contributing to a positive and safe team culture What you will bring 10 or more years of experience in geotechnical consulting, with a strong track record across site investigation, design, and technical reporting A consulting background with the ability to deliver quality outcomes with minimal supervision Relevant professional registration (CPEng or equivalent) or demonstrated progress toward chartered status Proven capability across foundation design, slope stability, retaining structures, and geotechnical investigation An appetite for business development and a genuine interest in growing a regional client base Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with clients and stakeholders directly A collaborative and team-first attitude, with a genuine interest in contributing to the growth of those around you A current driver's licence and willingness to travel for project-related work when required About Rockhampton Rockhampton sits at the heart of Central Queensland and offers a lifestyle that is genuinely hard to replicate in a capital city.
