Macedon Village Hotel is a popular hospitality venue located in the heart of Macedon, Victoria. We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our busy kitchen team and contribute to the continued success of the venue. Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements. Assist in menu planning and the development of seasonal specials. Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard. Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation. Assist with stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory management. Minimise food wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen work areas and equipment. Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service. Assist in training and supervising junior kitchen staff where required. Skills and Experience Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent. At least two years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Chef. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
