Job Description MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures Review illustrations and specifications to determine job, material and equipment requirements and ensure correct construction. Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts Cutting materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts Erecting framework and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards and verifying trueness of structures Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and door and window frames Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install Cutting wood joints Concreting and formwork Erect steel framework for outdoor living areas Install and secure metal wall and roof cladding on steel framework for sheds Cut wall and roof sheets neatly and accurately for the fitment of components such as windows, roof vents and doors. Fit roof vents, windows, sliding and hinged doors Repair or replace damaged steel or sheetmetal products and components Measure and draw custom flashing designs when standard flashings are unable to be used. Safely use portable scaffold and or EWP’s when working above 2m. Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of harnesses Digging footings and setting posts Performed minor tiling work associated with carpentry and renovation projects. Other tasks as directed Qualification: Relevant experience for a similar role Extensive knowledge of power and hand tools Capable of climbing ladders and manual handling Excellent verbal and written communication Strong attention to detail
