Printing Machinist – Kensington Vic Kogan People Solutions are working with a proud member of an Australia wide firm producing print a large variety of promotional materials, including books, brochures, business stationery, corporate documents, flyers, marketing materials, posters, banners, plan printing, promotional products, signage, stickers, labels, tender documents, and more. The Kensington location now wishes to appoint a skilled experienced printing machinist to ensure the branch continues to deliver exceptional printing solutions. The job is full time and ongoing. Salary on offer is negotiable in the range $80k to $85k plus superannuation per annum. Responsibilities include Press Setup & Operation: Set up, adjust, calibrate and operate a range of commercial printing presses and machinery including digital production presses, wide-format printers and offset printing equipment. Load, position, and regulate paper stock, card, vinyl, and specialty substrates. Review and interpret job tickets, production specifications and customer requirements to determine machine settings, substrates, colour requirements and production methods. Ink & Material Management: Mix and regulate inks, toners, and solvents to exact technical specifications. Manage substrate-feed and delivery mechanisms to ensure smooth continuous runs. Quality Control & Color Management: Monitor print runs in real-time to maintain exact color registration, density, and alignment. Detect, troubleshoot, and correct any print defects, machine faults, or variations from approved proofs. Print Workflow Systems: Interface with digital pre-press workflows to download, impose, and manage print queues efficiently, minimizing substrate waste. Print Finishing & Bindery: Set up and operate commercial finishing equipment, including programmable paper guillotines, folding machines, booklet makers, binders, and laminators. Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled cleaning, minor mechanical adjustments, and routine maintenance on all press and bindery machinery to minimize downtime and report major mechanical issues where required. Range of Materials Produced You will be expected to independently set up and execute print runs for a wide variety of client materials, including: Books, brochures, business stationery, and corporate documents. Flyers, marketing materials, stickers, and labels. Posters, banners, plan printing, and custom signage. Tender applications and promotional products.
