We specialize in growing bananas and are committed to delivering high-quality produce to our customers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Fruit Farm Worker to join our team. Job Overview As a Fruit Farm Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and quality of our banana crops, ensuring efficient harvesting and post-harvest processes, and contributing to the overall success of our farm. Key Responsibilities: - Planting, pruning, and maintaining banana crops - Monitoring and controlling pests and diseases - Irrigation and fertilization of crops - Harvesting and packing of bananas - Operating and maintaining farm equipment - Maintaining a clean and safe work environment - Assisting with general farm maintenance tasks as needed - Communicating effectively with team members and following instructions from farm supervisors - Adhering to all health and safety regulations and farm policies Requirements: - Minimum of 12 months of practical experience in banana farming - Certificate I in Horticulture or Agriculture is preferred. - Knowledge of banana crop production and post-harvest processes - Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions for extended periods of time - Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address potential issues with crops - Flexibility to work long hours and weekends during peak season - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the farm - Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed - Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50lbs This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $65,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation.
