About the Role We are seeking a skilled, hardworking, and motivated carpenter to join the OZWIDE team. In this role, you will handle the construction, installation, and completion of residential timber structures, such as roof structures, wall framing, and external cladding systems. The ideal candidate is reliable, committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, and open to continuous learning and professional development. Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Fixed Role Hours: 38 hours per week, 5 days a week (on-site) Salary Range: $77,000 - $87,000 per annum (Competitive based on experience) Location: Sydney, NSW (on-site locations vary depending on projects) Start Date: As Soon As Possible Key Duties & Responsibilities Your daily duties will involve the construction, erection, and repair of buildings and other structures made of timber, timber substitutes, and materials like plywood and wallboards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Studying drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures. Ordering and selecting timbers/materials, and preparing layouts. Cutting materials, as well as assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts. Erecting frameworks and roof framing, laying sub-flooring and floorboards, and verifying the trueness of structures. Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding, door frames, and window frames. Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation. Cutting wood joints. Assisting with concrete framework construction, repairing existing fittings, or working with plastic, laminates, Perspex, and metals as required. Qualifications & Experience Required Education: At least an Australian Certificate III in Carpentry qualification. Licensing: Valid Construction Induction Card (White Card) is required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience, OR at least 3 years of experience working as a carpenter in lieu of formal qualifications. Skills & Capabilities Proficiency in core carpentry techniques (timber cutting, assembling, nailing, and construction methods). Strong ability to accurately interpret plans and specifications while strictly adhering to building codes and standards. In-depth knowledge of occupational safety regulations and carpentry industry best practices. Strong problem-solving skills to identify on-site challenges and develop practical solutions. Willingness to contribute to site preparation and post-work cleanup to maintain a clean, organized work environment.
