5745 – Safety Management (Engineer) SPO: IC3SPO Project: CAF16 Location: Campbell Park Offices, Canberra, ACT Overview The CAF16 Safety Engineer will plan and deliver a System Safety Program within the CASG Engineering & Technical framework, balancing resource management and project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver a System Safety Program using system safety engineering services, meeting regulatory compliance. Conduct co-ordination, direction, and evaluation of system safety activities in a Capability Life Cycle environment. Conduct system safety analysis, development, and support Verification & Validation (V&V) as required. Plan and conduct System Safety Reviews and subsequent Systems Safety Working Groups. Provide advice and guidance on system safety engineering analysis techniques, processes, and software assurance. Conduct reviews of contract deliverables as required. Qualifications & Requirements A four-year engineering degree (AQF level 7) in a relevant engineering discipline recognised under the Washington Accord. Recognition as a Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent. A minimum one-year experience within a materiel system safety program. Experience in contemporary safety standards used in the Defence environment, specifically in CASG sustainment programs.
