Sydney Ancillary Areas Contract or Temporary We are seeking candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant (Finance & Control) role with a leading global bank’s Australian branch. This opportunity will be a 7-month maternity leave contract based in Sydney . The Senior financial accountant is part of a team responsible for ensuring the Finance & Control department meets its Financial, Regulatory & Control obligations for all Australian entities. Strong APRA reporting experience from another global bank would be ideal. Responsibilities Oversee the execution of Daily, Monthly and Quarterly first level controls for the Sydney Branch Perform 2nd level control as required by APAC finance. Preparation and review of audit files for the external auditors Preparation of daily LCR Preparation of quarterly tax effect accounting Preparation of and / or assistance with monthly BAS return Back up other team members during leave Provide support to another department on ad-hoc request Experience Required Core requirements for the role Strong technical knowledge of Regulatory Reporting. Exposure to Australian Prudential Standards ( APRA reporting) Ability to work autonomously Good understanding of financial products, control, and risk assessment implications Solid systems knowledge Beneficial: Banking experience preferred with an understanding of concepts such as capital requirements, risk/return analysis, credit risk, country risk, liquidity risk, transfer pricing etc. being desirable Core competencies required for the role Accountability and responsibility – committed to meeting objectives Attention to detail Team Orientation – works with the team to ensure timetables are met Qualifications Accounting qualifications Membership of CPA/CA
