Our client is a highly recognisable brand and an integral part of a major global group. About the role This is a rare in-house opportunity for a commercially focused lawyer who enjoys variety. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will work across a broad mix of commercial, regulatory and contentious matters. This will include: Negotiating key contracts such as services agreements, software licences and data access arrangements. Advising the business on consumer law issues including misleading and deceptive conduct risk, privacy obligations and data usage rights. Managing disputes, consumer law issues and IP enforcement and deal with courts, tribunals. Regulatory engagement. You will work closely with the business including product and technology teams, helping bring new products to market while balancing innovation with legal risk. About you The successful candidate will be a sharp, solutions-driven commercial lawyer with around 6–10 years’ PQE from a reputable law firm. Any in-house or secondment experience will be highly desirable for this role. A demonstrated ability to handle contentious matters and non-litigated dispute resolution including IP enforcement, consumer law issues and ACCC engagement is essential. Well-developed communication and strong written skills are essential for this role.
