The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector Southwest deposits. Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor , the Airleg Miner is responsible for performing manual drilling and ground support installation using airleg mining methods to develop and extract ore safely and efficiently. The role requires strict compliance with Vault Minerals' safety standards, operational procedures, and statutory regulations, contributing directly to production targets and safe mining operations. This position will be offered on a 14:14 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton. Key Responsibilities of this Role Will Include Perform airleg development and production drilling according to mine plans and standards Install ground support including split sets, mesh, and grouted bolts using manual methods Collar, drill, and blast rises, ore drives, and development headings manually Conduct scaling operations to remove loose rock Perform basic maintenance and servicing of airleg equipment Monitor ground conditions and report hazards or changes to Supervisors immediately Complete shift reports accurately, including drill and bolt logs Ensure cross-shift handovers are clear, comprehensive, and documented Assist with the setup of underground headings and ensure efficient cycle management Maintain equipment and LV storage areas in a clean and orderly condition Work flexibly across production, development, and services as required Identify improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety Perform any additional duties as directed by Supervisors or Managers About You Completion of Year 10 education Minimum 2 years’ experience in underground airleg mining operations Proven safe underground mining record Proficiency in manual drilling, ground support installation, and scaling Ability to monitor underground ventilation and atmospheric conditions Safe work practices in restricted access areas Competency in vertical rise work and ladder access Safe equipment isolation and tagging practices Familiarity with underground mobile fleet systems (optional) Required Certifications WA Manual Driver’s Licence (C-Class) WA Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC) Nationally Accredited Working at Heights Certification Level 1 & Level 2 Isolation (Site Inducted) Gas Test Atmospheres Knowledge (Site Inducted) Senior First Aid Certificate What We Offer Competitive salary Paid Parental Leave Paywise offers the following employee benefits to Vault Minerals employees: Novated Lease Vehicles Trade Tools FIFO Travel Portable Electronic Devices Self-Education Airport Lounge Membership Our Recruitment Process As part of our recruitment process, we require a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen, and a National Police Clearance.
