12 month role with possible extension Brisbane CBD based Key program leadership and governance role for strategic technology contracts Our Queensland Government client is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Program Director to provide leadership, governance oversight and coordination to support the planning, negotiation and delivery of priority strategic contracts. You will provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders and coordinate cross-agency engagement to support informed decision making and successful program delivery. Your responsibilities - Lead the development and refinement of the strategic approach and investment planning for the ICT strategic contracts, ensuring alignment with Queensland Government priorities and outcomes. - Establish and oversee appropriate program governance, delivery frameworks and assurance mechanisms to support effective decision-making and risk management. - Provide senior leadership and coordination across participating agencies, central agencies, vendors and delivery partners to support a collaborative, whole-of-government approach. - Provide high-quality advice, briefings and recommendations to senior executives and governance bodies to support investment, delivery and policy decisions. - Lead and oversee large-scale government procurement, commercial and contract governance activities relevant to the program, including engagement with delivery partners and vendors. - Lead cross-jurisdictional engagement and collaboration to support entity coordination, commercial arrangements and the establishment of appropriate technical solution approaches. - Lead operating model/functional reviews to strengthen ongoing management of delivery functions. - Support Queensland Government funding processes, including the development, costing and progression of budget, investment and business case submissions. About you To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: - Experience leading or supporting digital connectivity or large-scale technology modernisation programs, including significant contract negotiations and execution. - Demonstrated expertise in leading complex, multi-agency programs or investment planning activities within a government environment. - Proven ability to establish and maintain effective governance, assurance and stakeholder engagement arrangements at executive level. - High-level program and project management capability, including planning, dependency management and delivery oversight across large, multi-disciplinary initiatives. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive briefings, submissions and recommendations. - Sound judgement and the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities and sensitive stakeholder environments. Nil mandatory qualifications or conditions required. Desirable: - Significant experience working in or with Queensland Government or another public sector jurisdiction. - Experience leading or supporting digital connectivity or large-scale technology modernisation programs, including significant contract negotiations.
