The Company Our client is an established and growing civil contractor delivering bulk earthworks, pad construction, roadworks and drainage packages across Central Queensland. With a head office in Rockhampton, an expanding project portfolio and integrated wet hire capability, the business is entering a disciplined growth phase. To support this the Commercial team has a new position as Commercial Superintendent to support the business goals. The Opportunity This is a hands-on commercial role leading and embedded into the finance team of 4 and reporting to the GM Commercial. The position ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data across site operations, while supporting continuous improvement in cost management, controls, reporting efficiency, and operational decision‑making. The role serves as a key link between site teams, procurement, warehouse/logistics, and provides commercial leadership to strengthen financial performance and accountability. Key Responsibilities Financial management and month end reporting Leadership of the accounting team Budgeting and forecasting Commercial control and reporting Cash flow management Governance and compliance About You CA or CPA qualified. Experience in a commercial or management accounting within equipment hire, labour hire, mining, mining services, or major infrastructure industry. Demonstrated ownership of month end, forecasting, and cash flow in a business of comparable scale. Strong grasp of progress claims, variations, and retentions. Confident challenging operational teams on cost and productivity; able to influence and hold a position when dealing with frontline operators all the way up to the Directors. Advanced Excel; experience with construction or contracting ERP and job-costing systems (e.g. MYOB, Xero, Jobpac, or similar). Why This Role?
