Project Engineer – 3 Month Contract | Large Residential Project | Tier 2 Builder | Sydney CBD | Immediate Start About the Company Our client is a well-established Tier 2 builder with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects across Sydney. Due to project requirements and the need to assist with the successful completion of a major residential development, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the team on an initial 3-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to work on a significant residential project in Sydney CBD and play a key role in driving the project through its final stages of delivery. The Role Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, and project team, you will be responsible for coordinating project delivery, managing subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality, safety, and programme objectives are achieved. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Project Engineer who enjoys being involved in both site and project management functions. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and manage subcontractor packages through the final stages of the project Monitor construction progress and assist in achieving key project milestones Review and manage RFIs, shop drawings, and design documentation Assist with procurement and subcontractor coordination Prepare progress reports and project updates for senior management Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and quality requirements Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities Manage defects, rectification works, and close-out processes Liaise with consultants, clients, authorities, and project stakeholders Support programme management and look-ahead planning Assist with cost tracking, variations, and project controls Maintain high standards of safety and environmental compliance Skills & Experience Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer on commercial or residential building projects Previous experience delivering large-scale residential developments Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 builders highly regarded Strong technical and construction knowledge Excellent subcontractor management and coordination skills Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Proficient in construction management systems and reporting tools Available for an immediate or short-notice start What's On Offer Immediate start available Initial 3-month contract Competitive hourly or daily rate Sydney CBD project location Opportunity to work with a respected Tier 2 builder Large-scale residential development Dynamic and collaborative project team Potential for contract extension depending on project requirements If you are an experienced Project Engineer looking for your next contract opportunity and have a strong background in residential construction, apply now.
