Could you be our next Production Team Leader? Based in a busy manufacturing facility on Brisbane's northside (near Zillmere), this is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands production, people, machines and pressure. This is not a clipboard role. You'll be on the floor, leading operators, keeping production moving, troubleshooting issues, supporting 2ICs, and making sure the shift runs safely, consistently and efficiently. The site is busy, well-established and continuing to grow. They need practical leaders who can step in, learn the operation, and help build stable, high-performing teams. What's in it for you? Weekend work and overtime may also be available or required depending on production demand. Shift fit is critical. This role will suit someone who is genuinely comfortable working days, afternoons, nights and weekends when required. Your new role Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll lead a production crew in a machinery-based manufacturing environment. You'll be responsible for keeping the shift moving, supporting operators, solving issues as they come up, and making sure production targets, safety standards and quality expectations are met. Day to day, you'll: Lead and coordinate operators on shift Work closely with 2ICs and experienced team members Allocate people across machines and production tasks Manage workflow, breaks, handovers and daily priorities Monitor production output, quality and machine performance Troubleshoot production, material and machine issues Escalate maintenance or operational concerns when required Support machine start-ups, changeovers and basic fault finding Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times Coach, train and support team members on the floor Help identify strong workers for future development Maintain accurate production records and basic system updates Communicate clearly with production, warehouse, quality, safety and maintenance teams Drive accountability around attendance, behaviour, safety and performance What you'll need Experience in manufacturing, production, processing or a similar operational environment Previous team leader, leading hand, 2IC or supervisory experience Strong people management skills Ability to work rotating shifts across days, afternoons and nights Genuine availability for overtime and weekend work when required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Confidence working around machinery, equipment and production processes Clear communication skills Ability to follow procedures and keep others accountable to them Basic computer and data entry skills Strong safety mindset Forklift licence highly regarded, but not essential for the right person The key is not whether you know every machine on day one.
