Position: Motor Mechanic Location: 22G Motor Works, 84C Stanbel Rd, Salisbury Plain SA 5109 Annual Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus superannuation Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time Key Responsibilities: Conduct vehicle inspections, diagnostics, servicing and repairs. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking and other vehicle systems. Use diagnostic scanning equipment and computer-based systems to identify and resolve faults. Dismantle, inspect, repair and replace worn or defective parts and mechanical components. Perform scheduled logbook servicing, oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups and routine safety checks. Test and adjust repaired parts and vehicle systems to ensure proper performance. Carry out road tests where required to confirm vehicle faults and repair outcomes. Refer to manufacturer specifications, technical manuals and service information when completing repairs. Inspect vehicles and advise on repairs or work required to achieve roadworthiness. Maintain accurate records of inspections, services, repairs, parts used and work completed. Assist with ordering parts and maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures. Requirements: AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, or an equivalent relevant qualification; or at least three years of relevant full-time experience in lieu of a formal qualification. At least one year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic is required. Strong diagnostic and repair skills across a range of light motor vehicles. Experience using diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment. Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, suspension, steering and braking system faults. Ability to read and follow technical manuals, manufacturer specifications and service information. Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate service and repair records. Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team. Commitment to workplace health and safety procedures. A valid Australian driver’s licence is required.
