Position Overview The Branch General Manager is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and reviewing the overall operations and performance of the Mechtric Victoria branch. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across all branch functions, including sales, customer service, inventory management, supplier engagement and financial performance. The Branch General Manager sets objectives, establishes performance standards, and ensures the branch operates efficiently, profitably and in alignment with corporate policy. The position carries full accountability for revenue, gross profit, operational performance and market growth within Victoria, with a specific strategic focus on Delta Electronics, Lovato Electric and electric motor product portfolios. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Planning & Organisational Direction Plan, organise and direct the day-to-day operations and major functions of the Victorian branch. Establish branch objectives, performance standards and operational policies aligned with corporate strategy. Develop and implement annual business plans, sales strategies and operational frameworks. Assess market conditions and adjust strategy to maximise profitability and efficiency. Authorise branch-level expenditure within approved financial delegations. 2. Financial Management & Governance Take full accountability for branch P&L performance. Prepare budgets, financial forecasts and performance reports for submission to the Chief Commercial Officer. Monitor revenue, gross profit, operating costs and working capital performance. Review pricing strategies, margin controls and commercial risk exposure. Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements and operational standards. 3. Leadership & Management of Senior Staff Select, lead and manage branch sales, customer service and operational staff. Set KPIs and performance objectives across departments. Provide direction to departmental supervisors and senior team members. Conduct performance reviews and drive capability development. Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and growth. 4. Sales & Market Development Oversight Direct and oversee the execution of branch sales strategies across OEM, panel builder, contractor, distributor and electrical wholesaler channel markets. Approve major commercial proposals and negotiate high-value contracts. Oversee pipeline management and market expansion initiatives. Represent the organisation in key customer negotiations and industry forums. 5. Delta Electronics, Lovato Electric and Electric Motors Portfolio Leadership (Strategic Focus Area) Oversee the development and expansion of Delta Electronics product penetration, including VSDs and automation solutions. Support the expansion of the Lovato Electric portfolio, including motor control, protection, switching and control components, Establish and drive branch strategy for electric motor sales growth. Identify substitution and market capture opportunities within industrial accounts. Ensure motors and Delta Electronics portfolios are positioned as core strategic growth categories. 6. Operational & Cross-Functional Management Direct branch operations including inventory planning, supplier coordination, and customer service delivery. Liaise with internal departments including logistics, finance and other branches. Ensure efficient resource allocation across sales and operational activities. Review operational systems to improve efficiency and profitability. Qualifications & Experience Essential Minimum 10 years’ senior leadership experience within industrial electrical distribution, automation or related sectors. Demonstrated experience managing business unit or branch-level financial performance. Proven ability to drive multi-million-dollar revenue growth and lead high-performing teams. Strong commercial and financial management capability. Experience in electric motor sales and application support. Experience working with Delta Electronics and Lovato Electric products and solutions. Previous experience with NetSuite ERP beneficial, but not essential. Qualifications Electrical trade qualification or strong technical foundation in electrical systems. Business, management or strategic leadership qualification desirable. Additional executive leadership training beneficial.
