We are known for offering high-quality café-style food, including all-day breakfast, salads, pastries, and a range of Western-style light meals such as pasta, risotto, and hot dishes, complemented by premium coffee and beverages. We are currently seeking an experienced Cook to join our team. You will be dedicated to culinary preparation and eager to contribute to a high-quality dining experience. As part of the kitchen team, you will assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and maintaining consistent food quality and presentation. Roles and Responsibilities: Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes using different cooking techniques and equipment. Preparing ingredients and completing all pre-service food preparation for daily kitchen operations. Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards while accommodating customers’ dietary requirements and special requests where required. Monitoring cooking processes and checking temperatures of food, cooking equipment, and refrigeration systems to ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained. Reviewing daily preparation requirements at the commencement of each shift to ensure sufficient stock and ingredients are available for service. Managing stock rotation, storage, and inventory control to maintain ingredient freshness and minimise food wastage. Assisting in menu planning and the development of new dishes and seasonal specials. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, cool rooms, and storage areas in accordance with food hygiene regulations. Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures. Training and supervising kitchen staff on food preparation procedures, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations. Required Qualification and Experience At least 1 year of experience as a Cook Cert IV or above in cookery Required Knowledge and Skills Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn
