Sous Chef | Iconic Northern Beaches Waterfront Venue Salary range of $90-$110k Super An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sous Chef to join one of Sydney's most recognised beachfront hospitality venues. Located metres from the sand with uninterrupted ocean views, this high-volume venue combines a busy restaurant, casual dining offering, woodfired pizza operation and events business. The successful candidate will work alongside an established Head Chef while developing the leadership and operational skills required to progress into a future position. About the Venue This iconic Northern Beaches destination attracts a mix of locals, tourists and event guests year-round. The menu showcases fresh coastal dining with Mediterranean influences, premium local seafood, vibrant seasonal produce, meats from the charcoal grill and a popular woodfired pizza offering. Supported by a strong kitchen brigade, the operation caters to high-volume daily trade alongside a busy calendar of private events, functions and celebrations. The Role Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading service, supporting kitchen operations and developing the next generation of chefs within the business. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a Sous Chef who enjoys being actively involved in service while also taking ownership of team development, standards and kitchen administration. Key Responsibilities Support the day-to-day management of kitchen operations Lead service and manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence Supervise, mentor and develop a brigade of 10 chefs Assist with rostering, ordering and stock control Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation standards Support food cost and wage management targets Ensure compliance with food safety and WHS requirements Assist with menu development and seasonal updates Foster a positive and professional kitchen culture About You Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef within a high-volume venue Strong leadership capability and confidence managing a team Experience across restaurant, casual dining and function service Comfortable working across all sections of the kitchen Strong organisational and communication skills Sound understanding of kitchen administration, WHS and food safety Passion for coaching and developing junior chefs Looking for a long-term opportunity with genuine career progression What's On Offer Generous salary package ranging from $90k - $110k Super Genuine career pathway for the right person Work with an established and supportive leadership team Career development and ongoing training opportunities Stunning beachfront working environment on Sydney's Northern Beaches This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Sous Chef seeking a leadership role within a busy, well-supported kitchen while positioning themselves for future career advancement.
