Your expertise in engineering principles, project management, and team leadership will be pivotal in driving the success of our engineering projects. Collaborating closely with the Managing Director as well as cross-functional teams, you will oversee every stage of engineering development, from conceptualization and design to rigorous testing and successful deployment, ensuring our engineering projects drive innovation and provide value to our customers. The role will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, while also mentoring and developing your team members to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget Direct and coordinate new product development path with consultation with the MD and other stakeholders Continually uphold and improve technical and quality standards Comply with the ISO 9001 quality standards, including process such as horizon gates and testing protocols Develop and implement engineering processes and best practices to improve efficiency and productivity Guide product design to incorporate Lean and Six Sigma principles to improve product manufacturability, reliability and serviceability Lead and coordinate rapid resolution of any product issues identified in the field or via service returns Ensure that products designs comply with global standards such as RoHS, REACH, plus qualify for RCM, FCC, CE, UKCA certification Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their professional growth Identify and mitigate project risks and communicate status updates to stakeholders Manage resource allocation and budgeting to ensure optimal use of resources Continuously evaluate and improve team performance through regular feedback and Performance reviews Comply with relevant Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety Regulations and ensure that Safe Gauges code of conduct and policies are complied with by all staff At all times ensure the safety of your staff, both in office and whilst on customer sites.
