Due to continued business growth and increasing customer demand, we are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time basis. Position Summary The Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with menu requirements, operational standards, and customer expectations. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining efficient kitchen operations, food quality consistency, stock control, workplace safety compliance, and overall customer satisfaction. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Plan, prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and business standards. • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, portion control, and presentation quality. • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal menu updates. • Prepare and cook meals to accommodate customer dietary requirements where required. • Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods. • Train and support kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow and food quality standards. • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and workplace health and safety procedures. • Monitor stock levels, stock rotation, ordering, and inventory control processes. • Inspect food supplies and raw ingredients to ensure freshness and quality. • Minimise food wastage and contribute to cost-control initiatives within the kitchen. • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times. • Work collaboratively with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily operations and customer satisfaction. Skills and Experience Required • Relevant qualification such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher, or equivalent qualification. • Minimum 1 year of full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment. • Strong knowledge of commercial cookery techniques, kitchen operations, and food preparation methods. • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment. • Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS compliance requirements. • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills. • Ability to supervise and support junior kitchen staff effectively. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and presentation standards.
