Description About the role The Risk Manager – More Homes Group (MHG) plays a critical role in strengthening operational discipline and supporting well-governed decision making across the business. This role is responsible for embedding robust, compliant, and reliable risk and data practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise frameworks, policies, and assurance requirements. Operating as a business-embedded specialist, the Risk Manager leads key operational risk processes, including maintaining risk registers, overseeing incident management, and monitoring compliance obligations. The role works closely with MHG delivery teams and central risk, assurance, data, and technology functions to coordinate risk activities and ensure adherence to organisational standards. In addition, the role provides oversight of data governance, quality, and control processes, ensuring that information used across MHG is accurate, consistent, and aligned with enterprise expectations. By guiding teams and coordinating reporting and compliance activities, the Risk Manager ensures strong governance practices while enabling effective, consistent, and reliable operations. Key responsibilities Risk management and compliance oversight, maintaining the More Homes Group’s risk and compliance registers, ensuring risks, controls, and actions are accurately recorded, monitored, and aligned with organisational frameworks, and that appropriate risk mitigation and remediation strategies are in place Design and implementation of key controls to mitigate risks within the business, including the implementation of Control Assurance Self Assessment (CSA) and other key risk management activities required under the Group Risk Management Framework Incident management coordination, overseeing the full lifecycle by recording events, coordinating investigations, tracking remediation, and ensuring timely closure in accordance with policy. Data governance and quality assurance ensuring enterprise data governance standards, quality controls, and compliance requirements are consistently applied across the business, supporting reliable and well managed information. Analytics and insight development maintaining the groups operational data tools and trackers that support risk monitoring, data quality oversight and governance activities, ensuring outputs are accurate and available to central teams for analytics and reporting purposes. Provide clear advice to teams on risk, compliance, and data governance requirements, promoting consistent processes and strong operational discipline. Work closely with the central risk team, assurance, data, and technology teams to ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks, systems, reporting expectations and KYC and AML/CTF obligations. Manage structured workflows, maintain trackers, and support timely updates across risk, compliance, and data governance activities. Skills And Experiences Skills and experience Demonstrated experience in operational risk, compliance, governance, or related roles within complex or regulated environment. Strong capability in operational risk and compliance oversight, including maintenance of risk registers, incident coordination, and AML/CTF and KYC program management Highly effective communicator with strong stakeholder collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to guide teams and drive consistent risk and data practices whilst partnering with central risk and technology teams. Experience using Risk Management Systems, data management, reporting and analytics is highly desirable. Proficient in managing operational data tools and trackers that support risk monitoring, data quality oversight, and enterprise reporting. Strong organisational discipline and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple risk, compliance, and data activities simultaneously.
