The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to step into a newly created APS6 Financial Operations Team Leader role within this great agency during a period of systems uplift and organisational growth. Leading a small Canberra-based team and reporting directly to a highly technical and supportive CFO, you will play a key role in improving financial processes, uplifting systems capability, and driving operational efficiency across the agency. This is far more than a traditional finance operations role. While the role does oversee core operational finance functions, a major focus will be leading the continued uplift of TechnologyOne and the integration of Expense8 into the broader finance environment. The position offers the opportunity to combine operational leadership with project-style work, systems improvement, stakeholder engagement, and process automation within a collaborative APS environment. Ideally, this role would suit someone seeking an S26 transfer who is looking to step into a more technical, systems-focused finance leadership position. However, strong non-ongoing or contract candidates with relevant systems and operational finance experience are also encouraged to apply. The Role As the Financial Operations Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the agency while leading several key systems and process improvement initiatives.
