Network Engineer Your new company We are seeking a Junior Network Technician to support operational telecommunications systems in remote and challenging environments. This role focusses on maintaining and troubleshooting radio, satellite, and network communications, particularly in low‑bandwidth and high‑latency conditions.You will work within the Operations Support – Remote ICT team and will be based in Kingston TAS. You will provide day‑to‑day technical support to field telecommunications personnel and ensure the reliability of communication systems critical to safe Antarctic operations. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support and advice on data and voice communications across radio and satellite networks. Monitor, test, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, including radios, antennas, repeaters, GPS and satellite equipment. Perform routine maintenance and fault resolution to ensure system reliability and performance. Support ongoing operations of radio and satellite systems, including upgrades and change/release activities. Collaborate with stakeholders to support remote communications projects and system improvements. Assist in developing training materials, procedures, and technical documentation. Work with service providers to maintain system performance and meet service level requirements. Contribute to operational and strategic ICT projects. Key Requirements Experience supporting telecommunications and network systems in remote or constrained environments. Knowledge of radio, satellite, and data communication technologies. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
