What You’ll Drive The Senior Counsellor provides a professional counselling service to TAFE SA students and provides consultancy services to teaching staff. Responsible for a broad range of counselling and support in the areas of wellbeing, financial, crisis, conflicts and complaints, personal stresses, and the provision and evaluation of appropriate support to enhance student outcomes during their training. It is expected that the Senior Counsellor will respond to and oversee more complex student issues. The Skills You Bring Minimum Degree level qualification in the areas of Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work and eligibility for membership of relevant the professional body. Significant experience across a broad range of counselling practice, including crisis intervention, mediation, negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution. Experience in responding to a range of complex issues such as mental illness, harassment, substance abuse and domestic violence or other relationship dysfunction. What You Need to Know A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) issued by the South Australian Department of Human Services is required before employment.
